Mighty Cricket, a St. Louis-based firm that developed consumer food products using protein sourced from crickets, won a follow-on federal grant to further develop a project turning food waste into feed for crickets.

The company was awarded a $650,000, two-year Small Business Innovation Research grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, it said in a recent press release.
